Beauty by Holtion

Redesign of Branding & Marketing website design, build & 360 Marketing

Brief

Holition Beauty is a augmented reality startup sister company to Holition. It has been in the making for 10 years, it takes FACE software developed by Holition and productises the SDKs. Holition Beauty™ is a cross-platform virtual try-on and diagnostics tool which uses AI and machine-learning algorithms, with superior tracking and visual rendering.

The brief was to create a rebrand which gave Beauty by Holition a more sophisticated tone of voice and to place it in the market to make it stand out against the competitors in the AR Makeup field.

Goals

1. To have the correct balance of technology and beauty for the visual style.

2. To have a brand personality but also an empty canvas feel to it, as where the software lets clients can put their makeup & creativity into.

3. To establish Beauty as the leading AR Software product on the market.

4. To be able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, from marketers, sales people, CEOs, founders through to CTOs, who all have different business goals and targets.

Target Audince

Beauty by Holition provides ready to go AR solutions to small/medium beauty brands and allows them to revolutionise their customer beauty experiences in an easy and relatively cost effective manner. 

Further considerations for the target audience:
•  Variety of affordable & luxury beauty brands.

•  Variety of beauty brands targeting younger/older customer age groups.

•  Decision makers with differing levels of technology/innovation familiarity.

1. Strategy & Research

Note: Currently majority of the AR beauty providers have a more tech focused approach. While Perfect Corp’s branding suggests accessibility and a close link with beauty,  there are currently no brands in the beauty focused segment communicating an accessible yet sophisticated brand  image.

UX recommendations
As a result of the current branding audit & competitor analysis the following rebranding directions are recommended for HB:

1. More tech savvy
2. Slightly more sophisticated/less young
3. Maintained link with beauty for differentiation

LOGO

Exciting/ innovative/modern

• Include a pop of colours to differentiate it from competitors.

• Consider using a more  ‘modern’ font to highlight HB’s innovativeness and tech savviness besides its focus on beauty.

TYPOGRAPHY

Sophisticated/modern

• Keep sans serif, keep balance between sophistication and link with tech with the weight of the font.


COLOUR PALETTE

Sophisticated/beauty focus

• Increase the use of black & white to make it a bit more sophisticated while keeping ‘beauty colours’ to maintain link with the makeup category.

• Consider using other perhaps less ‘ young’ shades of pink/other beauty colours.  

IMAGERY

More tech savvy/sophisticated

• Include more tech imagery and immersive visual content for a more innovative/modern and sophisticated brand image.

• Consider using models/faces that resonate with a wider age group & more luxurious brands as well.

2. Branding  

Beauty by Holition provides ready to go AR solutions to small/medium beauty brands and allows them to revolutionise their customer beauty experiences in an easy and relatively cost effective manner. 

The static logo is the shape of a 45 degree cube. This cube visually links to the sister company Holition, (Holition logo has a 45 degree cube). Beauty by Holition has developed from Holition.

The wire frame of the shape conveys structure and scientific engineering which all of the technology that powers Beauty By Holition is grounded in. This has been developed over 10 years.

I have use the colour of the cube to link the logo to beauty.

Colour Pallete

The colour palette consists of a majority of white, this will give it a clean, simple and 'blank canvas' feeling. It will let the hint of colour stand out. It implies that the software is an empty canvas and that the makeup brands can put their own colours in. Hints of black and grey will be used to give contrast to information. There will be the use of the full colour spectrum in gradient tones.

This colour palette communicate Beauty by Holition as sophisticated, elegant, technological, clean and futuristic.

Visual Direction

Beauty by Holition provides ready to go AR solutions to small/medium beauty brands and allows them to revolutionise their customer beauty experiences in an easy and relatively cost effective manner. 

3. UX & UI of Marketing website

The whole website is a fully custom designed and developed, micro interactive, fully responsive and CMS driven website using Webflow. The Holition UX team, presented a UX report breaking down what the competitors are doing and an analysis of their current website. They also provided the copy.
